The Visa and Application process for Australia is dependent on the programme you opt to take part in:
Visit Oz
Working Holiday Visa 417
This visa allows applicants to work whilst on holiday up to one year. Second visas are available for those who have completed 88 days of regional farm work during their first visa, third visas are now available.
To be eligible:
Applicants must have/be:
- aged between 18 and 35 at time of application
- enough money to support yourself on a working holiday (about AUD$5,000)
Available Placement
Applicants are assessed, placed and monitored by VisitOz. Applicants will be placed with selected Australian host employers who will also be assessed and monitored by those same agencies. A deposit of AUD$500 is required to secure your booking with VisitOZ and the remainder of their programme fee is payable at the latest, 45 days before your departure.
Application Process
Step 1
- You will need to complete an online application form.
- Read the declaration carefully and make sure you understand fully its content along with the Terms and Conditions.
- Your interview is conducted in person at the Equipeople office.
- You need to apply for your own Working Holiday Visa online (it can take up to 4 weeks to process).
You will also need to attach:
- A brief but detailed autobiography is required in your online application including personal details and background, experience and skills (particularly in your requested placement), likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, hobbies, what you hope to gain from this program and your hopes and plans for the future.
- 2 references from previous employers or others who know you. It is an advantage if these are from someone connected to the area in which you hope to be placed.
- A copy of your CV, a recent head and shoulders photograph and any other relevant working photographs can be uploaded to your application.
- A copy of the photo page from your passport.
- A copy of your home country driver’s licence and International Driving Permit.
IRE Australia

Application Process
Step 1
- You will need to complete the application form, write clearly in black pen. This is important for us to get your details correct.
- Read the declaration carefully and make sure you understand fully its content.
- Your interview is conducted in person at the Equipeople office.
- Equipeople require your non-refundable deposit of €123.00 (including VAT) before submission of your application to IRE Australia.
You will also need to attach:
- A brief but detailed autobiography (1 page) including personal details and background, experience and skills (particularly in your requested placement), likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, hobbies, what you hope to gain from this program and your hopes and plans for the future.
- 2 references from previous agricultural employers. It is an advantage if these are from someone connected to the area in which you hope to be placed.
- A copy of your CV.
- Any diplomas or certificates that relate to your work or courses you have studied.
- A colour copy of the photo page from your passport.
- A copy of your home country driver’s licence and International Driving Permit.
- A completed next of kin/medical authorisation.
- A completed insurance form.
The complete application should give a detailed, positive and honest picture of who you are so we can find you the right host placement in Australia.
Step 2
Once you send your complete application to Equipeople, we will assess your application and suitability to the program and forward to IRE on acceptance.
The Australian agency then assesses your application and if eligible, will try to find you a suitable placement.
Step 3
A host placement sheet will be sent to you once you have been selected by a host. If you accept this placement, you will need to sign this. On acceptance of an offer, the remainder of Equipeople’s fee is payable (€307.50) together with the full amount of the IRE Australia programme fee of AUD$925.00.
Step 4
Once a placement is confirmed, a visa application can be completed. IRE and Equipoeple will assist with the application.
At least 3 months should be allowed for visas to be processed.
Step 5
Once your visa is approved, flight arrangements can then be made to Australia!
